How to export and delete your period tracker data
Before you switch apps or stop tracking, get a copy of your history. Then delete what you no longer want kept. Steps below are from each company's help pages as we read them on 2026-10-04; they can change.
Getting a copy
- Flo: request your data through Help, Contact us in the app. Flo sends a TXT or JSON file; its help center calls JSON the one for moving to another app. If you use Anonymous Mode, Flo asks you to register an account first.
- Clue: in Settings, Download my data. Clue emails a password-protected zip holding JSON files of your tracked data.
- Apple Health: in the Health app, tap your picture, then Export All Health Data. You get a zip of every Health record, Cycle Tracking included, as XML.
- Isla: Settings, Your log, Export a copy, as JSON or CSV. No account or email is involved.
Deleting
Removing an app from your phone deletes what it kept on the phone. It does not delete an account or anything stored on the company's servers. Apps on the App Store that let you create an account must also let you delete it from inside the app; look in the account or privacy settings, or write to the company and ask for erasure (a right under the GDPR in the EU and UK, and under several US state laws).
Data an app wrote into Apple Health stays in Health after the app is removed. To erase it, open Health, Browse, Cycle Tracking, Show All Data, and delete the entries, or remove an app's data under Sharing, Apps.
Moving your history into Isla
Isla reads Flo and Clue JSON exports and CSV files (Isla Pro), and imports from Apple Health and Isla backups for free. Settings, Your log, Bring your history shows the cycles it found before anything is saved, and skips days it already has. In Isla, Settings, Your log, Delete everything erases the whole log from the phone at once.
